Lead by good example is of course only possible if there really is to recognize innovation in hardware is released. Microsoft Surface tablets for a few very special courage to make choices which are now a tablet that is not really comparable to those before Windows 8 tablets on the market. A tablet with a 10.6 inch display can not be the smallest tablet course but Microsoft has both the size and weight really able to censor. In design was chosen fairly hard angles and optimization of the sides of the tablet to a connection and USB 2.0 port as possible. The most special feature of the design choices is of course the kickstand of the Surface RT. Display
The 10.6 inch display is a ClearType HD panel and has a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. In terms of resolution or PPI is not a tablet leader in battle but it's certainly not a bad screen. The viewing angles are excellent and also the color and extent to which the display can be illuminated (brightness) are fine. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass (2) and that makes the combination between the front and back of the tablet is not only very chic is also very solid.
Processor and RAM
The Tegra 3 processor we know most people from different Android hardware. This quad-core processor Nvidia developed for tablets and has important qualities when it comes to energy efficiency and performance in relatively simple use. Although the Tegra 3 quad-core processor called has not 4 but 5 cores, the fifth core is an additional economical (and slow) core that simple (background) perform tasks without too much load on the remaining 4 cores, and the battery.
2GB RAM sounds like a great luxury on a tablet and although I would not just negate must be said that Windows standard RT already quite a lot of RAM used and that the available RAM is sufficient in principle but not as abundant can be described.
Connections and Controls
In addition to the standard things like on / off and volume buttons one HDMI port (micro), headphone jack (stereo) microphone and speakers, the Surface RT for one tablet two "special" connections. A full-size USB 2.0 port allows a wide range of peripherals and via a microSD card reader (under the kickstand is hidden), the internal memory of the tablet increased. This in itself is a fairly complete tablet equipped with interesting options for things like an external mouse, printer or hard disk to connect.
